Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a system that analyses, creates, and manages different types of data. This data provides a visual representation of what geographic data is available which we then display onto maps. At Lee County we compile geographic data by surveys, analyzing aerial imagery, referencing as-built drawing, GPS collection, and reviewing plat records. All of this information is then compiled into a geographic dataset in our GIS software. We use this data to then display on maps for visual representation.
