All services performed by the Probate Court of Lee County are preferred APPOINTMENT ONLY. This includes Weapons Carry Licenses, Marriage Applications, Vital Records, and Estate matters.
The Probate Court is responsible for administering estate matters, establishing guardianships of minors and incompetent persons, issuing marriage licenses, performing marriage ceremonies, issuing Birth and Death Certificates, and collecting county traffic fines.
Traffic fines may be paid in person or online. If paying in person, we accept cash or a postal money order. If paying via USPS, the postal money order must be postmarked no later than the citation due date. Citations may also be paid online through EZCourtPay.com no later than 9:00 am on the due date of the citation.
To obtain and pay for replacement certified copies of Marriage Certificates please visit feepayonline.com. The cost is $12.

To apply for a Firearms License, please call to schedule an appointment and bring the following:
Driver’s License displaying current Lee County address. We accept the following methods of payment: Cash, Credit Card, or Postal Money Order.
- $78.25 (New)
- $38.25 (Renewals)
- $6.00 Replacement (lost, stolen, change of address)
Application hours: Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
The Weapons Carry permit is valid for 5 years. It takes approximately 10-14 days to process the application and for you to receive your card. The Probate Court will notify you when your Permit has been mailed.

Georgia weapons license holders should familiarize themselves with the individual requirements and limitations on Georgia weapons licenses in any of the states where they may wish to exercise their rights. Weapons laws vary from state to state and there may be municipal or county ordinances regulating weapons in other states. Also, please note that states may honor Georgia licenses in regard to firearms while not recognizing licenses as to other weapons, such as knives.
Note:
The State of Georgia is a Constitutional Carry State, however, not every state is. You will need a Georgia Weapons carry license to carry in reciprocal states.

$76.00 without premarital counseling
$36.00 with premarital counselingIn order to qualify for the reduced premarital counseling fee, couples must have obtained at least 6 hours of counseling by a professional Counselor, Family Therapist, Psychologist, or active member of the Clergy. Verification of counseling should be presented on the letterhead of the professional who provided the counseling. Both parties must be 18 or over and present a Photo I.D. i.e. Driver’s License, State issued ID.
If there were any prior marriages, please bring in the final divorce decree or a death certificate (if applicable).

Please call the Probate Court to request certified copies of birth or death certificates. To obtain a certified copy of a Vital Record, please bring your Drivers’ License or a State issued ID. The fee is $25.00 for the first certified copy and $5.00 for any additional certified copies. You may pay by cash, credit card, or a postal money order.
