The Animal Control department is responsible for the enforcement of the county's animal control ordinance in all areas of the county.
This department picks up stray animals and takes them to the Lee County Animal Shelter, resolves citizen complaints regarding animal control issues, and handles animal control complaints under the county's nuisance ordinance.
The Animal Shelter takes in stray dogs brought in by citizens and Animal Control. We also take owner surrender animals. We work hard to find loving homes for these animals and also work with different rescues to get the animals out of the shelter and into loving homes.
